POST OFFICE

In Metro Moore County we have at least ten maybe eleven zip codes. This is a problem I have been working on since Al Gore was for assault weapons, and talked faster. I even called the Postmaster General in Washington D.C., without any success. Most of our state and federal needs assessments are conducted using the Lynchburg zip code 37352, the other zip codes are left out, and so is Metro Moore. Having so many zip codes makes keeping sales tax records more difficult, and tracking the children that should be going to our schools almost impossible. Dish and Direct satellite company's base there local channels on zip codes some zip codes in Metro Moore get Nashville stations while others get Huntsville. This presents a problem with school closings. Many people think Motlow College is in Tullahoma because of the address. There will be a meeting in Mulberry tonight about closing the post office. We can express our views, but we just as well be talking to ourselves, because the decision has been made to close the post office and retain the zip code. We will have to go to Fayetteville where it is more inconvenient, and the same problems will persist.
