ROLLER SKATES
When I was young, my uncle gave my brother and I skates his daughters had out grown. They were skates that came from Sears and Robuck, J.C. Higgins. These skates clamped on your shoes with a key, in our case boots. Sometime we would have to move the hog rings over to get the skates to fit. The only place we could find to skate was the grainery beside the milk barn. It had a hardwood floor, when we moved the sacks of feed against the wall we had a 10'x12' skating rink. We were not the best skater's in Tennessee, but we were the best in Hurdlow.
